General Terms and Conditions
These terms apply to products and services supplied through overlaptrips.com. Mandatory consumer rights always prevail.

2. Products
A destination trip is a private hosted travel-planning digital service for one destination. It may include separate quizzes, group analysis, destination recommendations, saved and completed places, and a Today planner. A custom trip is destination-specific research prepared to an agreed scope and delivered as a hosted digital service. Overlap provides information and planning tools; it does not book travel or act as a tour operator.
3. Public pages and free Malta trips
Public destination pages are samples. Malta currently allows two travellers to create one free private trip. Free access may expire after 12 months of inactivity. Free availability may change, but an active trip will not be removed earlier than the retention period stated when it was created unless required for security, abuse prevention or law.
4. Paid trips and the merchant of record
Paid checkout, payment, invoicing, VAT collection, refunds and chargebacks are handled by Paddle as merchant of record. A paid trip is activated only after Overlap receives a valid Paddle payment confirmation matching the intended product, price and destination. The access period for a paid destination trip is at least two years from purchase unless the offer states a longer period.
5. Delivery
Paid destination trips. Access is delivered by a private secure email link as soon as payment is confirmed. The link creates a session on the customer’s device and keeps working while the trip is active. If the email does not arrive, the customer can request a fresh link using the purchase email address. Overlap monitors failed delivery jobs and retries them. A customer who paid but cannot obtain access may contact support for re-delivery or a refund.
Custom trips. After the scope is agreed and payment is confirmed, Overlap delivers the custom digital service as a hosted private-trip link by email. Delivery is completed within 48 hours after Overlap receives the second completed quiz code for the group (or within 48 hours of payment if no quiz step applies to the agreed scope). Where or how delivery occurs is always email to the purchase address plus a secure access link to the hosted workspace.
6. Immediate performance and withdrawal
Paid destination trips and custom trips are digital services. Before checkout, Overlap asks you to expressly request that we start supplying the service immediately after purchase. The 14-day statutory withdrawal period for a digital service begins when the contract is concluded. Requesting immediate performance does not cancel your statutory withdrawal right.
Access begins immediately at your request. You may withdraw from the contract within 14 days after purchase without giving a reason. Although the law may allow a proportionate charge for a digital service used before withdrawal, Overlap’s 14-day full-refund guarantee means that we will not make such a deduction.
How to withdraw: use the continuously available Withdraw / refund function (two confirmation steps), or email [email protected] with your order number and purchase email. After you submit a withdrawal through the online function, Overlap emails an acknowledgement on a durable medium with your submission details and the date and time of receipt. Refunds are returned to the original payment method within 14 days.
Checkout records your request for immediate performance and the terms version you accepted. Order confirmation emails repeat the applicable terms, withdrawal instructions and access details.
7. Licence
Subject to these terms and full payment where required, Overlap grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the purchased digital service for personal trip planning. Trip members you invite may use the shared workspace for that trip only. You may not resell, sublicense, publicly redistribute, scrape, or use the service or its content to train a competing automated system.
8. Customer responsibilities
- Provide a working email address and keep private access links confidential.
- Use the product for personal, non-commercial trip planning.
- Verify time-critical prices, closures, transport and safety information before relying on it.
- Do not resell, publicly redistribute, scrape or use the content to train a competing automated system.
9. Updates and availability
Overlap may correct content, security issues and product defects during the access period. Security and conformity updates reasonably necessary to keep the hosted digital service working will be supplied during that period. Planned maintenance or circumstances outside reasonable control may temporarily interrupt access. Overlap will use reasonable efforts to restore service.
10. Accuracy and conformity
Recommendations are based on sources checked on the stated date. Destination conditions change. If a paid digital service does not conform to the contract, the consumer retains the remedies required by applicable law. The refund guarantee is additional to those rights.
11. Refunds, reversals and access
A full refund normally ends the paid entitlement unless Overlap explicitly says otherwise. Payment reversals, chargebacks or fraud may cause the trip to be suspended or cancelled. Minimal financial records may be kept independently of deleted trip data for accounting and dispute handling.
12. Liability
Overlap is not liable for third-party bookings, closures, travel disruption or indirect loss, except where liability cannot legally be limited. Overlap’s information does not replace official travel, health, safety or emergency advice.
13. Changes to these terms
Overlap may publish updated terms for future purchases. An existing purchase remains governed by the terms version accepted at that purchase, unless a change is required by law or you agree to a newer version for continued use of the service.
14. Complaints and law
Send complaints to [email protected]. We aim to acknowledge them promptly and provide a substantive response within 14 days. Dutch law applies, without removing mandatory protections available to consumers in their country of residence.
